Gathering Place For The Soul

Trust God's Process

  • This is a Gathering Place for a hurting world.
  • This is a Gathering Place to let hurting people know that they are seen and not forgotten by God.
  • This is a Gathering Place for those who need encouragement.
  • This is a Gathering Place to testify to the goodness of the Triune God: God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • This is a Gathering Place to glorify our Heavenly Father for His sacrificial and unconditional love.
  • This is a Gathering Place where we see the Word of God come alive in His people and His creation:  A love letter for all generations willing to seek His truth.
  • This is a Gathering Place where we can read accounts of God moving in and through His people offering us Love, Hope, Healing, Forgiveness and Salvation.
God builds His Kingdom with the broken people of this world, not the strongest, not the most talented, and not the brightest, but the broken people. James 4:6 (NLT) says, "...“God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” David writes in Psalm 51:17 (NLT), "The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God."

Our Mission Statement: We exist as a sanctuary for believers as ambassadors of Christ, equipped by the Holy Spirit, transformed in the image of Christ, for God’s will to be done for such a time as this, which is the Lord’s Second Coming in these “now” End Times.

WHO WE ARE image
GATHERING PLACE FOR THE SOUL is a Christian platform where you are invited to share your testimony as it relates to your Salvation and/or your walk with God.  It is also a place for those who are hurting to find healing. This is God's website, and we are bringing His vision to light through the power of the Holy Spirit. While working on this site, we felt the Holy Spirit impress upon us the word "Shareholder." One definition states, "a person who owns shares in a company and therefore gets part of the company's profits..." (Cambridge English Dictionary). As we are believers in Jesus Christ, we have become co-heirs with Him and one day soon we will spend eternity in His Presence.

Romans 8:17 (NIV) "Now, if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his Glory."

By submitting your testimony, you become a Shareholder in God's vision for the site, to grow and carry it around the world declaring the works of the Lord.

We also stand with Israel. This is what the Lord says about his people, “For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. Deuteronomy 7:6 (NIV) This is a forever covenant. The Lord poured out his Holy Spirit on us (the Gentiles) in Acts 10 and we became the spiritual seed of Abraham through Jesus Christ. Israel is our heritage. We ascribe to God's word in Genesis 12:3 (NIV) "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

If you have landed on this site because you are hurting and searching for hope, it is no mistake you are here. If you are struggling with hopelessness, rejection, hurt, addiction, fear, sorrow, sickness, etc., you will find hope, acceptance, love, encouragement, healing, and freedom from strongholds. You will find it by reading accounts of God working in and through his people, so be encouraged and let these truths penetrate the deepest part of your heart. They will be healing to your soul. All of these testimonies point to the one true God: Christ Jesus the Messiah our Redeemer. We give Him all the Glory!

WHY TESTIMONIES? image
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! 1 Chronicles 16:8 (BSB)

The children of Israel had been held captive in Egypt for four hundred and thirty years. The Lord anointed Moses to bring about their freedom. When Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, they witnessed many miracles. The Lord used numerous plagues to persuade Pharaoh to let His people go. [1] In the Book of Joel
the Prophet states,

Tell your children about it in the years to come,
and let your children tell their children.
Pass the story down from generation to generation.

The Lord wants us to testify to our children and children’s children of His miracles and pass them down from generation to generation. The testimonies of these miracles are synonymous with God’s greatness, power and faithfulness, and they enable us to build our faith.

[2]John the Apostle writes in 1 John:
We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.

John walked with Jesus, witnessed many miracles, but none greater than the resurrection of Jesus after he had been crucified. His shed blood atoned for the sins of all mankind. “Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God's throne. Hebrews 12:2 (GNT) Jesus looked beyond the cross, and now is seated at the right side of God's throne and among those redeemed by his blood. This was the joy that was set before Him.

From the Old Testament to the New Testament every book of the Bible testifies to the goodness and faithfulness of our God. John 21:25 (BSB) states, “There are many more things that Jesus did. If all of them were written down, I suppose that not even the world itself would have space for the books that would be written.”

The Bible is a living testament to the living God, and [3]He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Miracles are for today and this website is to memorialize those testimonies in writing; the words of God’s people in this generation, so they can be told for generations to come.

If not one person ever spoke of the testimonies of God, the heavens have declared it from the beginning of creation.

[4]Psalm 19:1-4a
The heavens tell about the glory of God.
The skies announce what his hands have made.
Each new day tells more of the story,
and each night reveals more and more about God’s power.
You cannot hear them say anything.
They don’t make any sound we can hear.
But their message goes throughout the world.
Their teaching reaches the ends of the earth.

The God of all creation will reveal Himself to us in so many ways – Seek Him with all your heart – you will find Him!

Need Forgiveness

1…let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

2For You Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on You.

God would never have made provision for forgiveness if there wasn’t a need for it. Even as Christians we are in constant need of forgiveness. 3The spirit will continually be warring against the flesh. When I’m strong in the Spirit my spirit wins and I don’t sin. And when I’m weak in the Spirit my flesh wins and I sin. 4The Bible says sin has pleasure for a season. We wouldn’t sin if there was no pleasure in it. But what happens when that season is over? God’s judgment! Yet, God is always ready to forgive us. 5In the Bible story of the prodigal son, the son has left home with his inheritance to live sinfully. He runs out of money and now is eating with pigs. (That’s us living in sin). He decides to go back home to seek forgiveness from his father, (That’s us going to God). The Bible says when the father sees the son “yet a far off” he rushes to the son to receive, embrace, and forgive him. What a picture! God anxious, running to, and always ready to forgive us. We should be the same toward others who have sinned against us. And they should be ready to forgive us when we are in need of their forgiveness.

When we have sinned against someone, we should humbly and sincerely go to them to apologize. I have a friend who hurt someone very deeply with her words. She went and apologized and asked for forgiveness and that person “said” that she was forgiven. But, that person did not forgive and has been spreading gossip and lies ever since! What do we do in such case? First off, we forgive them. And second, we continue to pray for them. We are now clean before God. The blood of unforgiveness is on their own hands. Forgiveness is a two-way street. 6I heard a Bible teacher say that the one who apologizes first, is actually the more spiritual. Touché.

God loves holiness and obedience. Unfortunately, our flesh does not. The next best thing to obedience that God has created for us is reconciliation. What a beautiful plan for such an ugly and disloyal people. But that’s our God!

7“But all things are of God; who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation…” As Christians we have a ministry of reconciliation to God and to others.

Matthew 5:23-24 deals with two Christians:

“Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and then remember that your 8brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” God always puts the responsibility on us to go to the other person to make things right. They likewise should be feeling that same way towards us. We should be bumping into each other, in a rush to reconcile. But sadly, that is not usually the case. Luke 17:3 says, “so watch yourselves. If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them.” We must be led by the Holy Spirit when to rebuke and when not to rebuke. It would be very easy for grace to fall back under the law and an “eye for an eye.” Human nature says, “I have been wronged and you should apologize to me.” There is a satisfaction in the flesh to rebuke the one in the wrong! And yet, 9Jesus a lamb dumb before His shearers, said not a word.

10“Who, when He (Jesus) was cursed, didn’t curse back. When He suffered, didn’t threaten but committed Himself to Him (God) who judges righteously….”

We must listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit case by case and not be in such a rush to rebuke. So, let us practice the ministry of reconciliation while there is still time!

Forgiving Others

1… and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  …and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.

Whether we use the word trespasses, debts, sins, or wrongs, they mean the same thing.  When the disciples asked Jesus to teach us to pray, this was the example prayer for them.  Forgiveness is very important, from man to God and from man to man!  Forgiveness between man and God is the beginning of it all.  For how can I truly forgive others if I myself have not been forgiven by God?  2When we repent of our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins!  This is where the “forgiveness lesson” from God begins.   So in the above verse we are asking God to forgive us - as we forgive others.  “In the way I forgive them God, I am asking you to forgive me.”  Do you see how serious this so called Lord’s prayer is, just from the forgiveness aspect alone?  Because of this prayer, if I will not forgive others, God cannot forgive me!  Remember, that’s what we are asking - and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  In the way I forgive them, forgive me.  Because of this verse, unforgiveness is more than sinful it may be “second death” sinful!  So forgiving others is mandatory!

There are two types of forgiveness:  The first type of forgiveness is totally for self-preservation reasons.  It’s forgiving others whether they have asked for it or not - very important!  Remember, they may never ask for forgiveness.  Then why forgive them?  Unforgiveness left to itself, always turns to bitterness.  Psalm 66:18 (NKJV) says, “If I regard iniquity (or sin) in my heart, the Lord will not hear (me)".  I don’t know about you, but I need God to hear me - He is my only hope.  Part of Hebrews chapter 12 verse 15 says, “being careful not to fall short of the Grace of God, from any root of bitterness that springs up to cause trouble, and by this many become defiled…”  After becoming a Christian I read this verse about a “root of bitterness.”  I put the Bible down, looked to Heaven and said, “A root of bitterness, I’ve got a Redwood tree of bitterness!  God, how do I get rid of this?”  You see, I had fertilized and watered the “root of bitterness” by harboring anger, resentment, and unforgiveness for years unknowingly.  But little by little as I forgave others and repented of past hurts at the hands of others, peace began to fill my heart!  We’re choosing to forgive because in God’s eyes it’s the only way to be set free from our own guilt of unforgiveness.  Forgiveness is not a feeling or emotion, but a choice!

The second type of forgiveness is when the person actually apologizes and asks for forgiveness.  Then you can tell them that you have forgiven them (because of the first type of forgiveness, above).

When we ask God to forgive us of our sin, He is not forgiving the sin - He is forgiving the sinner.  The sin has just as much weight and death in it as ever.  He is forgiving us for our willingness, with His help to change. 3“ For a just man falls seven times, and rises up again…”  4“And be ye kind to one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you.”

1Matthew 6:12 (Paraphrase)

21 John 1:19 (Paraphrase)

3Proverbs 24:16 (Paraphrase)

4Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)

Forgiving Ourselves

God has a lot to say about forgiveness in the Bible.  1If we repent of our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  2If we repent of our sins, He chooses to remember our sins against us no more!  3He says as far as the east is from the west, I will put your sins from you.  4I will put your sins in the sea of My forgetfulness, never to be remembered against you.  But, when we think our sin is too great, we don’t see how God can forgive us - and even if He can, we can’t forgive ourselves.  Doesn’t that sound righteous, holy and noble?  We’re so sorry for the sin we committed that we can’t forgive ourselves.  But, do you know that nowhere in the Bible (all 31,102 verses) does God ever tell us to forgive ourselves!  Our failure is the sinning and our restoration the repenting.  God’s role is the forgiving and forgetting!  David tells God in Psalm 51, to “cleanse me from all unrighteousness,” we can’t cleanse ourselves - to “renew a right spirit in me” - we can’t renew ourselves.  When God has cleansed me from all unrighteousness and renews a right spirit in me, the sin no longer exists!  It is as though I have never sinned.  That’s why I can go to Heaven.  Jesus took my sins, so I don’t have any!  If God has used me even one time after asking for forgiveness, and not feeling forgiven, then I am forgiven! 5 “Whom the son sets free is free indeed.”  Never go by your feelings or emotions.  Feelings have been given by God as a “sign post” that points to something that needs addressing, not a “rest area” to sit in condemnation.   6If I have to forgive myself - I’ll never be able to come boldly to the throne of grace for restoration.  I’ll never have the faith to leave my shame, to believe God could forgive me.  7Without faith it is impossible to please God.  8Whatever is not of faith is sin.  9Jesus said He put His faith and trust in no man, for He knew what was in all men.  So I can’t have faith in me, I must have faith in God and His promise of forgiveness!  He died for us!

ARE YOU READY? image
We are living in a world on fast-forward! The pandemic, rioting in the streets, jobs lost...and on and on. Many are gripped by fear of what the future might hold. What does it all mean? It's about the soon return of Jesus! Are you ready?

[1]The Bible states that the seas would be roaring just before his return. Whether this refers to hurricanes and tsunamis stirring the seas I am not sure. God sometimes used the word seas or waves to describe the multitude of mankind. So, whether it's literal weather phenomena or racial unrest - they're both true! [2]Isaiah 17:12 is one example. Alas, the uproar of many peoples who roar like the roaring of the seas and the rumbling of nations. Who rush on like the rumbling of mighty waters!” [3]God’s first line of defense when his people are completely disobedient has been to use weather. He uses droughts, floods, winds, heat, cold, dust-storms, fires, even insects. He uses these things to wake us, because generally there are few casualties but huge financial losses. [4]God says that where your money is your heart is. So, we are usually devastated financially. Let me be clear, God is not causing calamities, He's using calamities. [5]The Bible says that when a nation has filled its cup with sin that the land itself will vomit out its inhabitants! Even though the land is vomiting us out, God is not looking to destroy us but to turn us from our wicked ways. Let us wake up, the king is coming! So, the land of its own accord is vomiting us out - it's one of the natural laws of God. It's like the law of gravity, which is good, created by God and yet sometimes it's catastrophic. Gravity is great when you're walking, it keeps you firmly on the ground, but a detriment when your parachute fails to open! When we obey God, we get rain in proper amounts for crops. But when we disobey nationally, we get drought, etc. Even in this God is looking at individual hearts. [6]He says it could rain in my yard if I'm obedient and not in my neighbor's yard if they're disobedient. You must remember rain was good, many were farmers.

What is in store for our future? Plenty! God is using the works of the enemy to His and our advantage. [7]When the enemy comes in like a flood God will raise up a standard. [8]This pandemic and all that goes along with it was prophesied over 2,000 years ago from the mouth of Jesus! [9]The devil is enraged because he's running out of time and he knows it so he's stoking the flames of evil in the hearts of wicked men! [10]God's judgment begins in the house of the Lord. Worldwide disaster has not come for the sin of the ungodly but for the ungodly behavior of God's people! This is a wake-up call for the church and an eye-opener for the world. The King James Version of Romans 13:11 says, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we (first) believed.”

[11]God says that if we will judge ourselves then he will not judge us. Clearly the idea is that we have turned from our wickedness so there is no longer a need of judgment. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 says, “When I (God) shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Everyone of us, saint and sinner alike should be searching our souls - seeking the will of the Lord during this time. [12]The Bible speaks about the dread or terror of the Lord! Let the dread of the Lord wake you up Christian brother, Christian sister. We must wake up to save the lost. They have no idea what is going on in the world. We must give them answers - and a hope. There is no hope but in Christ Jesus! The world is waiting for things to return to normal. But things are NEVER returning to normal. This is only the beginning of what is to come. God is giving a final call to mankind. Answer the call! Luke 21:28 says, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near.” Even in this, the prophets (past and present) speak about the next great awakening of the Lord! [13]They see one more time on a worldwide scale where the Lord manifests himself through his people and otherwise, when he pours out his Spirit on all flesh. [14]God who is not willing that any should perish makes the global plea for repentance once more.

The churches are full of unsaved people and sleepy Christians in a state of “spiritual stupor.” Remember, it's God's own people who don't know what time it is on his prophetic time - clock! 2 Peter 3 :3-4 says,...First, scoffers (mockers) will come in the last days walking according to their own desires and saying, “where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep (died), all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” The scoffers and doubters are Christians, not sinners. Only Christians believe in “creation,” sinners believe in “evolution.” Jesus confronted the religious leaders and skeptics in his day also. They had been waiting for the Messiah to come for thousands of years, and yet they did not believe he was the Messiah. Even after all His teachings and His miracles they refused to believe! [15]Jesus said to them, when it is evening you say, “it will be fair weather for the sky is red; and in the morning, it will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening. Hippocrates! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you can't discern the signs of the times.” What He's saying is that they understood the simple weather signs, but failed to see the obvious Messianic signs! They had neglected spiritual signs for fleshy signs - and yet they were looking for him! [16]Talk about not being able to see the forest for the trees.

God's people are woefully ignorant of the end times. Many churches never preach from the books of Revelation, and Daniel, and Ezekiel, etc. So, most of the church is woefully and willfully ignorant of the things to come! Saints if you want to know what is to come, you're going to have to search it out for yourself. In over 50 years of attending different churches, I have only heard one in-depth message about the end times, and that was from a visiting Pastor! That's pitiful. The next big thing to happen in the world and many of God's own people don't have a clue. So, I ask you again - are you ready? I'll talk more about this next time, God willing.
